Billy F. Cunningham, 84, of Winnie went to be with his Lord on February 11, 2009 at his home after being surrounded by loved ones and friends.

He has lived in the Winnie area since 1957. Billy was a retired engineer with Gulf Oil and served proudly in the Army Air Corps of WW II. He loved to tell stories of his experiences in WWII and of his travels.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Broussard’s Chapel in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Betty Lou Cunningham of Winnie; children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; friends, neighbors, co-workers from Gulf Oil, and his “little son” Taco. Special thanks goes to a special friend and caregiver, Wilda Brown.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Cunningham’s family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 755 S. 11th Street, Suite 212, Beaumont, Texas 77701.

I was saddened to hear of Billy's passing. I have wonderful memories of him when I was teenager. He nicknamed me "China-man". He always made me laugh. May God be with you. Much love and prayers.
