Dorothy "NuNu" Howell, 83, of Nederland passed away Monday, February 9, 2009 at her residence in Nederland.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Micah Howell, and Rev. Patrick Hunter officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday evening at the mortuary.
Mrs. Howell was a native of Opelousas, Louisiana and lived in Nederland for 70 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, and the First United Methodist Church in Nederland.
Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Howell, her daughter-in-law, Brenda Howell, and her grandson, Troy Stockton. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Stockton and husband Don of Village Mills; her son, Dr. Lanny Howell of Nederland; five grandchildren, Trent Stockton and wife Rachael, Treyson Stockton and wife Robin, Lance Howell and wife Alison, Micah Howell and wife Laurie, and Jenna Howell; three great grandchildren, Kalen Stockton, Jonah Stockton, and Mackenzie Howell. Our family would like to give special thanks to her caregiver, Maria Ramon for the care giving to Mrs. Howell during her time of need.
