Matthew Sonnier, 86, of Stowell, died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Arboretum of Winnie.
A native of Morse, Louisiana, he lived in Stowell since 1939. Matthew was a retired foreman for Trinity River Authority. Matthew served in the United States Army – Air Corp during World War II.
Matthew is survived by his sons, E.J. Sonnier and his wife, Priscilla of Winnie, Gerald (Cooney) Sonnier and his wife, Darlene of Stowell; daughters, Deborah Smith and her husband, Delbert of Winnie, Linda Weekly and her husband, Wesley of Stowell; grandchildren, Richard Sonnier, Darrell Sonnier, Yvonne Hudspeth and her husband, James, Harrell Sonnier, Hank Sonnier and his wife, Amber, Bonnie Campisi, Shon Sonnier and his wife, Kim, Dale Smith, Derek Smith, Rodger Manuel II, Sumer Manuel, Wesley Weekly Jr., Amanda Holmes and her husband, Robert, Sarah Weekly; great-grandchildren, Hope Sonnier, Adam Sonnier, Stephanie Sonnier, Bethany Sonnier, Ceirra Ihle, Emily Ihle, Elizabeth Hudsepth, Chandler Hudsepth, Seirra Foy, Montana Foy, Harley Sonnier, Alan Campisi, Kirstie Thompson, Kensie Doucet, Kallie Sonnier, Savannah Smith, Leann Manuel, Gage Manuel, Bobby Manuel, Cassie Meyers, Hunter Biano, Aiden Williams, Murphey Holmes, Maddison Schroder, William Schroder; and one great-great-granddaughter, Sara Desormeaux.
