I well recall when you and your family moved to Kountze and lived in Forest Acres. You were a breath of fresh air and allowed many to understand in a personal way - that Hardin County is just one small corner on the earth. Your family learned English and many here learned that safety is often found in a democracy - a fact many of us take for granted. You lost everything in Cuba but your family - the most valuable asset. You didn't moan and groan but picked yourself up and created a successful life in Texas. It is a lesson we should all learn and take to heart. Prayers for your family and friends!
