Lavelle Teel Busby, 98, of Silsbee died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Silsbee Convalescent Center. Lavelle was born in Silsbee on August 7, 1910 to William Felix and Tersa Ann (Robinson) Teel. A lifelong resident of Silsbee, she was a homemaker and a longtime member of Evadale Church of Christ.
Lavelle was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-three years, JC Busby and her son, Kenneth Edwin Busby. She is survived by her daughters, Vada Fitzgerald and her husband W.D. of Evadale, Evelyn Roberts and her husband David of Silsbee, Kay Caraway and her husband Billy of Silsbee, Vicki Byrom and her husband James of Buna; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Broussard’s 490 Cemetery Road in Silsbee with Mr. Mark Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, February 2, 2009 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
