Lennis “Sonny” Stepherson Jr., 76, of Nederland died Friday, January 30, 2009 at his residence.
Graveside service will be 10 am, Monday, February 2, 2009 at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the mortuary.
Sonny was native of Trinity and lived in Nederland since 1958. He was a Truck Driver for Central Freight retiring after 30 years of service. Sonny enjoyed playing drums in Country and Western bands and was a longtime friend of Bill W.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Ellen Stepherson of Nederland; daughter, Nancy O’Donnell and husband Ed of Austin; sons, Larry Wayne and Steven Ray Stepherson of Nederland; sister, Barbara Edwards of The Woodlands; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sonny will be especially missed by his four legged companion and security system Termite the wiener dog. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lennis and Syble Stepherson, his son, Edward Leroy Stepherson and his brother Kenneth Hugh Stepherson.
