Florence Dunlap, 82, of Honey Island died Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Tomball Hospital. Florence was born June 14, 1926 in Honey Island to Dan and Cloann (Nickelbur) Sutton. A lifelong resident of Honey Island, she was a retired bookkeeper with Overstreet LP Gas Company in Kountze. Florence was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Honey Island.
Florence is survived by her son, Ernest Lee Dunlap III and his wife Jan of Houston; brother, P.D. Sutton of Honey Island; granddaughters, Angela Dunlap and Jessica Dunlap; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, E.L. Dunlap and son, Gary Lynn Dunlap.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverend Mel Rowell officiating. Burial will follow at Holland Cemetery in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, January 27, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
