Emma Olivier, 89, of Winnie died Saturday, January 24, 2009 at her residence. Her journey in this world began on August 7, 1919 in Kanton, Louisiana. On February 16, 1946 she married Gabriel Roy Olivier. Next month Roy and Emma would have been married sixty-three years, a remarkable testament to love and the institution of marriage. They lived in Nederland thirty-seven years before moving to Winnie in 1958.
She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren deeply. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, and crocheting. Emma also loved pink roses, flowers, sweets and angels, which she collected and displayed throughout her home. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and will be greatly missed.
