Reverend Raymond C. Buckalew, Sr. 75 of Nederland went to be with his Lord, Tuesday evening, January 20, 2009 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 23, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Broussard’s in Nederland, with the Reverend Louis Morris officiating. A gathering of family and friends with be Thursday evening from 5:00–8:00 pm at the mortuary.
After retiring from DuPont Beaumont, Mr. Buckalew turned his attentions to full time ministry, where he has served his God and church for the past 45 years. He also proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Navy.
Reverend Buckalew, Sr. was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Nora Buckalew of Nederland, Texas; three sons, Raymond Buckalew, Jr. and wife Cindy of Jasper, Texas, Bobby Buckalew and wife Debbie of Nederland and Donnie Buckalew of Daisetta, Texas. He is also survived by one daughter, Sharon Marrs and husband John of Port Neches, Texas; thirteen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
