Johnnie Boggan, 89, of Hamshire died on December 31, 2008 at the Silsbee Oakes Nursing Home.
A native of Atmore, AL., he had lived in the Hamshire area for the last twelve years. Johnnie was retired from the United States Air Force after twenty-four years of serving his country.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Atmore, AL. with burial in Miller Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s in Winnie.
Johnnie is survived by his wife, Muriel Boggan of Hamshire, TX; sons, John Boggan of Hondo, Bruce Boggan and his wife, Sue of Pensacola, FL., David Boggan and his wife, Rita of Slidell, LA.; daughters, Cathy Melancon and her husband, Mike of Hamshire, TX., Susan Rye and her husband, Phillip of Mauriceville, TX., Carol Nash and her husband, Matt of Irving; brothers, Jessie Boggan and her husband, Dot of Bankston, AL., Wayne Boggan and his wife, Lura of Mobile, AL. and sister, Marjorie Kirkland of Atmore, AL. He was preceded in death by his sister, Esther Boggan.
