Edward William Corder was born July 3, 1925 in Leesville, Louisiana to Edward Corder and Lola Crosby Corder. The family eventually migrated to Kenefick, Texas. Ed Corder died on January 4, 2009 in Beaumont, Texas at the age of 83.
In January 1954, Edward joined the United States Army serving honorably until his discharge.
Edward was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Loretta Ann Walker; and is survived by his brother, Eugene Thomas Corder of Kirbyville, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Edward was a most talented guitar, mandolin and dobro picker spending much of his time playing his favorite music, “Bluegrass”. Edward was also a devout Christian, daily reading his Bible and becoming very knowledgeable of its contents.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Qamar Arfeen and all the wonderful and caring nurses at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital I.C.U. We also thank Chaplain David Cross who upon learning that Edward loved Bluegrass music, brought in a CD player with several Bluegrass CD’s.
A family graveside service was held for Edward at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
