Alice Bernice Rollins, born May 24, 1926 in Orange, went home to our Heavenly Father on December 29, 2008. Alice was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Alice retired from AT&T and after retiring, went to work at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont for several years as a Communications Operator.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Lorine Wilson and Golden Birtie Gillispie, Sr.; and her brothers, Golden Birtie Gillispie, Jr. and Edward Leo Peveto. She is survived by her two daughters, Bethanne Arafat Franco and husband Josue Franco of The Woodlands; and Rebecca Jean (Becky) Belt and her husband, Dale E. Belt, Sr. of Silsbee; grandchildren, Aleah Stowe and husband Riley of Round Rock, Danyal A. Arafat of The Woodlands, Adam N. Arafat of Ansbach, Germany, Howard S. Bergeron, Jr. and wife Hillary of Brandon-Suffolk, England, Dale E. Belt, Jr. and wife Sunni of Hohenburg, Germany and Dacia Anne Belt of Buna; great-grandchildren, Jackson E. Stowe of Round Rock and Rae Ann McKinney of Brandon-Suffolk, England.
Alice knew that three great-grandchildren would be welcomed into her life in 2009 and she was anxiously awaiting their arrivals.
Beth and Becky wish to express their gratitude to the caregivers of Sabine Oaks Home in Beaumont for the wonderful care that was given to our Mom over the past seven years. The laughter, love and compassion each one of you displayed to Mom has been a blessing and Mom loved you all very much.
We send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Gary Clayton of Beaumont for the many years of
professional dedication that he has given to our Mom. Dr. Clayton‘s caring nature, compassion and gentle demeanor will always be remembered and is so deeply appreciated. Our Mom loved and respected you, as do we.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2008 at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, with burial to follow at R.S. Farmers Cemetery in Silsbee. A gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.., Thursday, January 1, at the Mortuary.
