Jewel Bullock, 84, of Sour Lake died on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at her residence after an illness. Jewel was born on February 10, 1924 in Reeves, Louisiana to James Jefferson and Chloe (Gill) Alexander. She had resided in Sour Lake since 1954.

Jewel is survived by her sons, Gene Bullock of Big Sandy, Glenn Bullock of Sour Lake, Carl Bullock and his wife Karen of Mauriceville; her brothers, Charles Alexander of Liberty, Milton Alexander and his wife Carolyn of Sour Lake; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Rosedale Cemetery in Sour Lake under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze.

Aunt Jewel was a true gem to all of her Family. She helped us
with Bobby and Uncle Arnold. Aunt Jewel was very close to
her family when she was able. We will miss her and Virgil
and I hope to stay close with the rest of the family. If the
Family's you can keep us up with all the rest of our families.
We all know that she is in a better place, since she had been
real ill. We were out of town when Linda Laird called us.
