I owe my lifelong love of fantasy and sci-fi books to Mrs. Cacioppo. While she was librarian at Vincent, she introduced me to Tolkien, Susan Cooper, Lloyd Alexander and other writers like them and I have been a fan ever since. Thank you!

What a wonderful teacher and grand lady. Being a dedicated librarian, she naturally taught us how to enjoy reading and how to respect books. She masterfully explained the Newbery and Caldecott Medals and how to appreciate the works they represent. She also was very influential during our 6th grade year (1966) as a group of classmates put together a limited issue school newspaper called "The Pietzsch Fuzz". To this day childhood reading books about Homer Price and Danny Dunn remain fresh in my mind because of Ms. Cacioppo. Thanks for the indelible memories.
