Mark Sitton, 74, long time resident of Nederland, died Tuesday, November 25, at his home.
He retired from Texaco, where he worked as an operator. He graduated from Beaumont High School, Class of 1952. Sitton served in the U.S. Navy aboard the destroyer tender USS Piedmont. Interment will be held at Dallas National Cemetery with full military honors. Services will be held at a later date under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary, Nederland.
Sitton is survived by sister, Martha Sitton Dill of Bloomfield CT and friend Dr. Herman Glassman; nephew Robert Dill Jr. of Woodland Hills, CA and wife Josie Lywen-Dill; and great-niece Jasmine Lywen-Dill, a student at Boston University, Boston MA. As an animal lover, Sitton had given homes to many needy animals.
