Ernest M. Ray, 57 of Port Neches, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at his residence.
Funeral service will be 5:30 PM, Friday, November 14, 2008 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland with Rev. Frank Williams and Rev. Brent Williams officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00 -8:00 PM, Thursday at the mortuary. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday 10:00 AM -12:30 PM at First Assembly of God in Caldwell.
Ernest was a native of Caldwell and has lived in Port Neches for the past 38 years. He was employed with Motiva as a Lab Technician. He enjoyed working on his deer ranch and hunting. Ernest was a member of Magnolia Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Ernest Ray; brother, Mervin Ray and sister, Leona Storm. Ernest was survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Ray of Port Neches; daughter, Lisa Gillenwater and husband Joe of Conroe; two sons, Michael Ray and wife Erica of Port Neches, James Ray and wife Stacy of Beaumont; two sisters, Mary Pratt and husband James of Waco, Linda Storm of Somerville; two brothers, Jerry Ray and wife Geraldine of Caldwell, Charles Ray of Atacocita; five grandchildren, Andrew, Anna, Sarah, Brycen, Michael and many family members and friends. Memorials can be made to Gideon Bible Society or the American Cancer Society.
