Betty Marie Mercer, 74, of Winnie died November 10, 2008 at the Arboretum.

Graveside wiil be 10:00 am Wednesday at High Island Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's in Winnie.

She is survived by her son, Charles Mercer of Pt. Bolivar, daughters, Mary Rose Jones of Santa Fe, Betty Gail Tidwell and her husband, Gary of Springtown; brothers John George and his wife, Winnie of ARK., Eddie George of Conroe; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, Billy Gene Mercer and sister Patty Broussard.

To the family of Betty Mercer, we are just finding out about Betty's death tonight. Her funeral is tomorrow.we just had a funeral in our family today in Winnie. Somehow we didn't find out about Betty. She was a room mate to Jerrell's mom for a good while. We became attached to her and cared for her as much as we could. She thought the world of Jerrell and myself. We will miss her dearly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
