Darla Jean Smith, 61 of Spurger died Friday, November 7, 2008, at Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Darla was born December 31, 1946 in Manteca, California to George and Eunice (Norton) McKinley. A resident of Spurger for eighteen years, she was a homemaker.
Darla is survived by her children, Jody Smith, Jr. of Orange and Jennifer Cravey of Spurger; grandchildren, Amber Favors and husband Jack, Aaron Gore, Elmo Cravey and wife Deanna, Nicole Cravey, Lindsey Smith, and Nakona Cravey; great-grandchildren, Joshua Favors, Lane Gore, Kylei Cravey, Tucker Cravey, Cierra Rogers, Jordan Rogers, and Jace Rogers; and brother, Herbert McKinley of French Camp, California. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jody Ray Smith, Sr.; and parents, George and Eunice McKinley.
Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Turner Branch Cemetery on Hwy 1013 East in Spurger under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, November 10, 2008 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
