Henrietta Humphrey, 98, of Double Bayou, died November 2, 2008 at the Goose Creek Rehabilitation Center in Baytown.
Henrietta lived all her life in Double Bayou. She was the seventh child born to the late Barge and Susie Hughes Humphrey and to this union eight children were born. Henrietta attended school in Double Bayou and later taught school in Double Bayou and Hankamer. She loved living on the Bayou so she could fish and eat fish. Henrietta also spent plenty of time in her flower beds. She joined St. Paul at an early age and loved working with the children of the church. Henrietta was a faithful member of the church choir until her health failed.
Funeral services will be Saturday 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 338 Church Rd. in Double Bayou with burial to follow in Humphrey Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Henrietta leaves to mourn her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
