Ruby Nell Allen, 78, of Nederland passed from this life on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard's in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, October 31, 2008 at the mortuary.
Ruby was born to the union of Bina Wayne Gary and Bettie Faye Brown on October 28, 1930 in a rural area of Marion County, Texas. She was the fourth of six children and the only daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Wayne Allen and five brothers. Born and raised in East Texas, Ruby graduated from Gladewater High School in 1948.Ruby was a resident of Nederland for thirty-six years, where she worked for T G & Y for twelve years and then became secretary for Benco Construction until her retirement in 1992. She was a founding member of Church on the Rock. She loved and served her family with all her heart.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Benlien and husband Robert of Nederland, Gay Louviere and husband Leroy of Arlington; son, Larry Allen and wife Marilyn of Nederland; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
