John Milton Cone “Conehead”, 55, of Arizona, earned his “Clearance Card” on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. He was born November 22, 1952 in New Gulf, Texas. He was a graduate of Nederland High School. His passion of trains was fulfilled by his thirty-five years of service as an Engineer with The Santa Fe Railroad and Amtrak. He was known to run on the “High Side”.

After his early retirement at the ripe “Old” age of 55, he was able to enjoy his nine grandchildren to the fullest. His passion for music, sports, and cards brought much enjoyment to his life. He loved to make jokes and kept everyone around him smiling. Anything that he could do to bring joy to others brought even more joy to him. He found serenity at the family cabin in Zwolle, Louisiana. He will be greatly missed!

“Highball Ya’ll, Run 8, Let’s Go!”

He is survived by four beautiful daughters and their spouses, Jennifer and Paul Pruett of Lake Havasu City, Allison and Carmie Cone-Alfano of Phoenix, Sarah and Patrick Gibbs and Lisa Bailey of Tyler; 9 1/2 wonderful grandchildren: Jeffery, Stacy, Cody, and Ashley Pruett; Landon and Braydon Cone-Alfano; Garrett Gibbs; Bethany and Zane Bailey; two brothers, Dan and Alma Cone of Plano, and Gary Cone of Beaumont; two sisters, Patricia and Henry Miller of Beaumont and Ethel and John Mathew of LaBelle. He was the beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Wilma Cone, formally of Nederland.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October, 27, 2008, at Broussard’s, 1605 N Major Drive, Beaumont, followed by burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Hwy 69 South, Nederland, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will Sunday, October, 26, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm at the Mortuary.

It has been over a year and we miss the heck out of you! The boys and I always talk about you. Braydon misses "Torture Time" on the couch! Landon misses the "UGLY" hummers. I miss all the daily tormenting. Or how about, "Mighty fine dinner ladies"! Carmie misses your Care Bear comments! You will always have a place in our daily lives and hearts! We love you Old Man!

A special "Thank You" from the 4 Girls. Because everyone has taken the time to reach out to us during our time of grief, we have been blessed with them many stories that allows us a chance to know our Dad in a different light. We are blessed knowing how many lives he touched outside of our family. If he only knew just how much everyone loved him for who he was! Thank you for all of your prayers, support, and great memories of our Dad!
