Clinton Benjamin Walker was born August 4, 1923 in his grandmother’s home in Zavalla, Texas. He passed from this life at his home in Beaumont Monday, October 20, 2008 to enter his eternal home. Home is where his heart was and will forever be.
He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Clint actually fudged on his age by two years to enlist in the Army.
Clint loved horses and raised them for many years as they were very much a part of his life. He passed on this love of horses to his son, Shawn.
His step-father, Robert Reeves Crisp; and his mother, Florence Edwina Hawkins Crisp preceded him in death.
Survivors include his devoted wife of forty-eight years, Elizabeth Delores Walker; his sons, Terry and Shawn Walker; his very special daughter-in-law, Diane Walker; and “the light of his life” his precious three year old granddaughter, Nicole (Nikki) Walker.
We will all miss Clint greatly, as he was indeed the rock that everyone leaned on.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to Spindletop MHMR Services, Mental Retardation Planning Advisory Committee (MRPAC), P.O. Box 3846, Beaumont, Texas 77704.
