James Lee Spencer, Sr., 51, of Honey Island died Sunday, October 19, 2008 at his residence. James Lee was born in Houston, Texas on December 30, 1956 to Lee and Betty (Lewing) Spencer. A resident of the Kountze area most of his life, he was an ironworker with Echo Construction. James Lee loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy of Honey Island; children, Jason Alvis and wife Stephanie of Sour Lake, James Lee Spencer, Jr. and wife Suzanne, Jeremy Pillaro of Franklin, Louisiana, John Wayne Spencer of Lake Charles, Brian Crawford and wife Freda of Honey Island, Chris Guidry and wife Amanda of Kountze, Alyssha Toronjo and husband Tommy of Kountze, Somer Jacobs and husband Jack of Moscow, Texas, and Winter Sims and husband Chance of Warren; brother, Anthony “Boney” Spencer of Silsbee; sixteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and nephews, Aaron and Andrew Spencer. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Brittany Spencer.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverend Chance Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, October 21, 2008 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
