Bennie Gene Roberts, 66, of Bevil Oaks, died Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.
A native of Kirbyville and lifelong resident of the Beaumont area, Bennie was a retired field dispatcher with Transit Mix. He was in the Army Reserve and enjoyed auto racing and watching sports.
Survivors include his previous wife, Helga “Helen” Conklin of Portsmouth, Ohio; step-mother, Reba Roberts of Beaumont; daughter, Leslie Roberts Durio and her husband Kevin, and their daughter Peyton all of Atlanta, Georgia; sons, Eric Roberts and his wife Vanessa, and their daughter Erika all of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Brian Roberts of Bevil Oaks; brothers, Alvin Roberts and his wife Patti, and their son Matthew of Lumberton and Mark Roberts and his wife Shizue, and their two daughters Emma and Julia all of Beaumont.
A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
Bennie loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
