Delores Marie Theriot Atkinson, 78, of Port Acres, Texas, died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland with Reverend David E. Belt III officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Nederland, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00-7:00 PM, Saturday at the mortuary.
Delores was a native and lifelong resident of Port Acres. She was a homemaker devoting her life to her family and friends.
Mrs. Atkinson was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, W.C. “Bill” Atkinson, Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Billy Atkinson and his wife Dr. Joannie Atkinson of Warren, Lonnie Atkinson and wife Tana of Jasper; daughter, Renee’ Belt and husband Reverend David E. Belt III of Jasper; brother, David Theriot and wife Jo Ann of Buna; sister-in-law, Sadie Theriot of Nederland; brothers-in-law; Gary Niebergall of Nederland and Richard Atkinson of San Antonio; grandchildren; Dr. Brad Atkinson, Jennifer Cain and husband John, Derik Atkinson and wife Bonnie, Dody Powell, Aaron Richardson and wife Tiffany, Danielle’ Champagne and husband Bryant, Angela Brandt and husband Scott, David E. Belt IV, Ashley and Brittney Baker and Kristin Mayer and husband Jeremy plus 12 great grandchildren, soon to be 14. The family also wants to recognize special friends, Wayne Newsom and Marina Flores.
