Charlie and Michael,
I just found out about Cathy.. I am so sorry. I lost my sister 14 months ago to Breast Cancer. The pain stays for a very long time. I wish I could say it gets better. It doesn't. Or at least it hasn't yet.
Cathy was such a loving person and happy when I knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

Oh my gosh, my heart broke to hear the news of your passing. I started reading your guestbook and could not resist signing in. I have not spoken to you in so many years, but I had so many wonderful memories with you growing up. You were always so much fun and always so accepting, your family never turned away anyone and always made me feel right at home. I am so sorry for your pain. I can only hope that the peace you feel right now is what you have longed for. I know that God has scooped you up into his hands and is loving you the way you have always wanted to be loved. You will be greatly missed by all, but it is only a temporary seperation. To Kathy's family, you probably dont remember this old red head but I certainly remember you. I am so sorry for your loss and pray for your peace during this time. Kathy...Rest in peace my dear old friend.
Tiffany (Mallet) Halbert
I miss you Aunt Kathy. I love you forever
Kathy was a very special friend of mine and she will be missed deeply by me.. I could always depend on her if I ever needed a shoulder. Her daughters were very special to me as well. I will pray for her family and will see her again..I am sure she will be waiting on me.. love always BIG "E"
Kathy, I've read so much and learned so much. I've thought about you constantly and cried endlessly. I hate that your pain was so great that it could have caused the sorrow for your family that it did. It must've been so extreme. We had some great, fun, wonderful times. I regret not keeping in close contact. I'm sorry I could not have shouldered some of your pain. I love and miss you, girl. My heart is so heavy. I remember your "fear" of ambulance sirens because of the trauma of hearing them again and again during your dad's illness. I remember funny times....when Bailey threw up because of something Courtney did on Michael's couch. HAHAHA...I remember so many funny times at Dr. Goldstein's office. And even the moment I met you walking in on me and Jaclyn wrapping Christmas presents there. The house in Port Neches you FOUND for me and even considered renting with me there. Remember my HUGE Christmas tree?? And me and you tooling around Christmas Eve night to buy Michael candy when you couldn't afford anything else for Christmas and it was snowing? Jeez...Kathy. I will miss you forever. I came across some of your Polo socks you left at my house. To match your "regrettable" Polo tattoo on your ankle. And Michael's PNLL T-shirt you loaned me - I came across it in the laundry yesterday and sobbed. You were such a big part of my life for such a small period of time. But you were such a special part of my life forever. I wish I understood your pain. But I know that your pain must've been unbearable for you have left them all behind. You were such an amazing soul...I can't believe you are gone. Love, sister!!!!
Dear Kathy,
The first time I've had a chance to spend alone since I heard the news was last night and it all started sinking in. Flashbacks of your smiling face and wild spirit, and all of the good times we had. We lived together, wore each other's clothes, shared each others make up, and we even had a few fights. Then life happened. Years separated us because we had to grow up, and we grew apart. I wish I would have tried to get in touch with you every time I wanted to, but the hustle and bustle of life didn't give me the time (or so I thought). I'm so sorry that I didn't try, and I'm so sorry that you were hurting. I went to your funeral yesterday. In spite of the circumstances it was good to see everyone. I've always loved your family as if they were my own. It was like a little reunion of all of the people who were in my life so many years ago, just without you bouncing around in the midst of it all. I looked around at everyone who was there. They were all there because you had touched their lives in some way. Then I looked at you lifeless, and hopefully at peace. I hope that you are now in a place where all of the hurt and the ugliness of this world are not a problem for you. I just wish I would have known. I don't know if I could have helped, but maybe if I would have had the chance, things might be different. I hope you thought about me sometimes, the way I thought about you. You need to know that you were loved by so many. I will always cherish the great times we had and hold on to all of the memories. And I will never forget the beautiful person that was once my best friend.
I will love you always.
Rest in peace, long lost friend
Chrystal
Patrick and Family,
I was so saddened to hear about Kathy's passing.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Kathy and I worked together at Accutox Stat Lab. Shortly after meeting Kathy we became great friends. She had such a great personality. She would make the day so enjoyable at work. She kept us laughing and slowly converted us to Jim Morrison fans. Every morning when she got to work she would pop in the Door’s CD. I remember one morning I had it already on when she got to work and she was impressed cause she had got me hooked.
We became such good friends that really we treated each other as siblings. We would pick on each other in fun and even when we got mad everyone could tell that we cared for each other. I would go to her for advice and vice versa she would do the same with me. When we both changed jobs I missed our daily talks. We did keep in touch but text messaging is just not the same.
Not only was she a great friend but she was awesome at her job. Her patients began to ask for her to do their phlebotomy on them. When she was not there they often asked where she was. Everyone loved Kathy! She was great with each patient she knew people by name and I can still hear her voice saying “ Hello sweetie, How are you doing today?”
Kathy , I will miss you. Even though I don’t understand your departure, I hope whatever pain you were in is gone. You deserve a great after life and I hope to see you again someday. You were like my sister and so I consider you part of my family. Thank you for being a part of my life.
One of your many extended family members,
I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you all. God Bless You All.
Rest peacefully Kat! Again, I am so sorry I didn't see your pain was so deep. I am sorry.
Amanda
Michael and Patrick,
I am so sorry for your loss. I was in shock when I heard about Kathy. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. My mom and dad send their prayers as well.
I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear that Kathy is no longer with us. She worked with me at a doctor's office a few years ago and we fast became close friends. I loved her kids and she loved mine. We drifted apart when she found a new job and I moved to Lumberton. But she was often in my thoughts. In fact, just last week I was thinking about trying to contact her. It breaks my heart that I missed that chance and didn't even get to say goodbye. Courtney and Bailey, I am so sorry for your loss. But I know you have a loving family who will always be by your side. This doesn't even seem real. Kathy was such a wonderful person. She will be missed. My heart and my prayers go out to all of her family.
Carole
Kathy,
It's been a while since we last talked or seen each other. I was very devasted to receive the news about your depature from this life. It came as such a shock as memories of you came flooding back as I was also trying to process that you were really gone. I met you and your family when I was a single mother trying to make it as you were also. We had that in common and used to talk , laugh, and cry about all the things that come from being a single parent. I feel very fortunate that my life was touched by you, Micheal, and Patrick. Yall are some very unique people. It's hard to find such positive, upbeat people that make you smile by knowing the right thing to say. That is how each one of you were. I love you and wish I had the chance to tell you what a fun, loving, and caring person I thought you were. I would even make you some of that potato soup you used to love!!! My love goes with you.......
Angela

Michael - All my love and prayers for you, your brothers. Wish we could all go back to the old neighborhood when we all went to Woodcrest, where life was still fun and carefree. She was one of my first "real" friends in life. She will always have a special place in my heart. Stay strong big brother.

Kathy, We had so many great times together. I can't believe you're gone. You have touched so many people in your lifetime & made so many friends. I still can't believe the crazy things we use to do. I still laugh at the time that we took your mom's car & when we pulled back into the parking lot of your apartments-- you stepped on the gas instead of the brakes & ran into the a/c unit outside. I know your mom always thought it was all your fault & you talked me into it but, Annie-- it was my idea too!!Sorry Miss Annie for all the trouble & headaches we put you through, but they sure made some good memories. Although know one knew you were hurting so bad-- you'll never hurt again. I pray that God wraps you in His loving arms & never lets you go. I love you so much & will miss you greatly.
Love, Kelly Odom Cormier

Just wanted you all to know how deeply sorry I am for your loss. My thoughts & prayers go out to each and everyone of yall....
When Kathy entered my life I was 17. At first Kathy and I clashed. Since we were both the “life of the party” we pretty much dared each other to “take the spotlight” away. After a few weeks of giving each other the evil eye when found ourselves needing each other and then learned that we were so much like one anther that we became great friends.
Kathy got me a job at Triangle’s, which was a night club at the Holiday Inn on Jimmy Johnson the very day that I turned 18. Now working with Kathy; I though I had hit the “jackpot”. Not only did I have a new best friend I had a cool job and a new family.
You see, with Kathy came this huge family. Being from a broken home I just jumped in and claimed them whether that wanted me or not. Of course it helped that Kathy’s family consisted of good looking brothers, a spunky mother, a funny daddy, an angel of an Aunt, a daughter that you could help but love and cousins that were more like best friends. This family, not knowing my past, made my many years of heartache seem so far away.
Kathy was the “girl” that everyone wanted to be friends with. People actually fault for her attention. She brightened up the room with her laughter and smile. Her funny facial expressions that included her tilting her head to the side as she threw up both hands before every sentence always made me laugh. Not to mention her endless dancing that always came out of nowhere.
In these days and years to come we danced to Mick Jagger, Duran Duran, The Hunger, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and cried to Boyz 2 men and Whitney Houston.
We spent endless nights with Aunt Carolyn and memorable days playing on the beach, along with unforgettable job at our now job; Billy Joe’s Bar B Q.
Kathy was always dreaming big. She had several goals and although she was one of the biggest procrastinators she managed to make a few of those dreams come true. One dream included my hair turning purple and left me with a hair cut that Billy Ray Cyrus laughed at as she graduated Cosmetology. Another dream left my mouth hurting for days but with a whiter smile as she went to Dental Assistant School. And the last goal left her licking her lips at my veins as she readily made it through to be a Phlebotomist. I am sorry Kathy but after the “hair” I just could not allow you to get near me with that needle!
Somehow out Kathy lost her focus, her ambition. The bright smile, although still there, was hiding a world of pain that only she really knew existed. Maybe I was to busy to see the “life of the party” in pain or maybe I just overlooked for the good time I knew I would have around her. I don’t know the answers.
Kathy, I am sorry that I didn’t see your pain. I am sorry that your hurt was so deep that you felt that this was the only end in sight.
Kathy, you will be missed. You will be loved forever and you will never be forgotten. Love Always, Amanda
Even though I knew very few members of Kathy's family, I would like them all to know how very sorry I am for their loss. I worked with Kathy at Accutox and she quickly became one of my favorite people. We had lost touch over the last year or so but I will miss her dearly!!
My heart and prayers are with all my family.
I will always remember. . .Love for ever, Amanda
