Hubert L. Van de Vyver was born on June 26, 1931 in Antwerp, Belgium and died peacefully on September 30, 2008 in Dallas, Texas. Affectionately called “Dr. Van” by his friends and patients, our beloved father and grandfather courageously endured a long and difficult struggle with great strength and perseverance. He now rests in the Lord with his parents, Leon Charles Van de Vyver, M. D. and Marie Louise Van Mosuenck.
Dr. Van attended medical school at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium and graduated with honors in 1958. Following graduation, he immigrated to the United States, completing a residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1969, Dr Van moved to Beaumont and enjoyed a long and successful anesthesia practice for nearly twenty-five years, retiring in 1994.
Dr. Van will be remembered by many of his patients and colleagues as a tireless, competent and caring physician who was always available to those in need. Outside of his love of medicine, Dr. Van enjoyed reading, visiting with family and friends, fishing at the beach and listening to classical music.
