Melba Love Reed, 94, of Kountze died October 1, 2008 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. Melba was born September 15, 1914 to Do-Boy and Edna (Kingrey) Dozier in Singer, Louisiana. A resident of Kountze since 1948, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her children, JoAnn Flowers and husband Bill, Leon Reed, Sandy Groves and husband Sammy, and David Reed and wife Cindy all of Kountze; sister, Ella Mae Madeley of Jacksonville, Florida; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and thirteen great great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills with Reverend Robert Hall officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to service time from 9:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze.
