Celine Moss

Celine Bass Moss peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on 20 September. Born in Port Neches to Creagg and Lela (Collier) Bass, Celine was the third of eight children. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Jack M. Moss, her parents, her sister Wilalta Anderson, brother George (Buddy) Bass, and nephew, Jed Bass . She retired from Union Oil in 1977 and moved to a farm in Hearne where she lived for many years. She returned to the Port Neches area in 1995 where she lived until earlier this year when she moved to Orlando, FL. Celine is survived by daughters Joan and husband Robert Goody-Veal, Orlando, FL and Diana (Rusty) and husband Edward Artz, Kennett Square, PA; son Jack and wife Shelley Moss, San Leon; grandsons Bledge Goody, Blaine (Jennifer)Goody all of Orlando, Hayden Wood, and Jack Moss II, both of San Leon; four great grandchildren, Amanda, Austin, Sterling, and Nicholas Goody, all of Orlando; sisters Edna Barrett, Arlington, Jo Pearl Rooker, and Jimmie (James) Bolton both of Port Arthur; brothers C.P. (Lynn) Bass, Denver, CO and Herbert (Myra) Bass, Nederland; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Moss family would like to thank the Calderwood Assisted Living nurses and aids for the loving care, attention, and friendship they gave our mother during her residency there. She loved them dearly. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Broussard's Mortuary in Nederland, with a short visitation at 10:00 AM followed by the service at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 3, 2008.
