Elfrieda Mgebroff Cook
Elfrieda Mgebroff Cook, 87, of Arlington, Texas, and formerly of Beaumont, died February 28, 2004. She was born March 13, 1916 in Brenham, Texas to The Rev. Johannes and Helene Mgebroff.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Robert Berner of Arlington; son, Philip Cook of Bastrop; son and daughter-in-law, David and Catherine Cook of Beaumont; nine grandchildren, Michele Southwood and husband Paul, Becky Stocking and husband Steve, Paul Dillon and wife Sheryl, Philip Cook and wife Renee’, Stephen Dillon and wife Tisha, Andrew Cook, Mira Cook, Martha Cook, and Matthew Cook; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Cook; her parents; one great-grandchild; sisters, Kathryn Hasskarl, Helen Schroeder, Elizabeth Bosl, and Johanna Mgebroff; and brothers, J.T. Mgebroff, Dick Mgebroff, Johnny Mgebroff, and Fred Mgebroff.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church followed by burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. Pallbearers will be her son-in-law, Robert Berner; grandsons, Paul Dillon, Philip Cook, Stephen Dillon, Andrew Cook; and grandson-in-law, Steve Stocking.
A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday evening, March 2, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mortuary.
