Freda Elaine Lowrey, 80, lifelong resident of Beaumont, died September 22, 2008 at Vidor Manor Nursing Home. A former Miss Beaumont High, Freda modeled for Neiman Marcus, and was one of the first Women Realtors to obtain a license in the State of Texas. She was a very successful former broker in the Houston area, a member of the Delphian Society, and numerous other charities.
Her husband, David Lowrey; daughter, Adrian Bell; and grandchild, Lindsey Cook preceded Freda in death. She is survived by her sister, Adriana “Nina” Husbands of Beaumont; daughter, Alexa Cook of League City; cousins, Dyckie O’Shell, Marie Keriotis, and Dorothy Bartlett of the Beaumont area; niece, Virginia Major of Beaumont; nephew, Milton Husbands Jr.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
At the family’s request, services will be announced at a later date to allow family and friends time to return from recent Hurricane Ike. Arrangements are being handled under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.
