HAZEL ENGLISH ROUEN
Hazel English Rouen, 84, longtime Beaumont resident, passed away peacefully in Houston February 2, 2004 after a long illness. She and her loving husband LJ, also deceased, were owners of the Log Cabin Café on Railroad Ave for over thirty years until their retirement in 1969. She devoted her life to caring for others.
She is survived by her daughter, Myra Stewart and son-in-law Tony Stewart of Houston; grandchildren, Holly Vreeke and husband Stephen of San Antonio and Andy Stewart and wife Jennifer of Austin. She also had many loving nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2004 at St. Anthony Cathedral followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A Christian will be Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
In lieu of usual remembrances, the family requests donations are made to St. Anthony Cathedral School, 850 Forsythe, Beaumont, Texas 77701-2890.
