Joyce Carter Barras, 83, of Beaumont, died Sunday, August 31, 2008. A native of Warren and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Mrs. Barras was a retired dispatcher from Mission Petroleum.
Her sons, Gary Barras and Phillip Young preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters, Sue Boullion and her husband W.E. of Port Arthur, Julie Blanco of Beaumont, Laura Freeman and her husband K.J. of Warren and Diane Barras of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; sisters, Gladys Archer of California, Elsie Davis of Mississippi and Benellen Knight of Warren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Her grandsons, Sidney Boullion, Sammy Boullion, Chris Boullion, Brian Blanco, Kelly Blanco and Jonathan Butaud will be serving as pallbearers. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2008 at the Mortuary.
