Alton “Al” Plunk, 69, of Lumberton died August 18, 2008 in Sour Lake. Al was born May 20, 1939 to Melvin and Gracie Mae (Crane) Plunk and lived most of his life in Jasper before moving to Lumberton four months ago. He was a dispatcher with Charles Griffin Trucking in Sour Lake.
He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Avery and husband Bob of Lumberton; son, Roy M. Plunk of Jasper; grandchildren, Amy Avery and Justin and Allison Plunk; great grandchild, Ryan Plunk; and brothers, Jack Plunk of Baird, Texas and Gene Plunk of Portland, Oregon.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard's in Kountze.
