Helen Jean Norton Waldron, 76, of Kountze, died Saturday, July 19, 2008 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Helen was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi, on October 8, 1931, to Versie and Katie Norton. She lived in this area most of her life, and was a beloved mother and grandmother and a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Gene Norton and wife Karen of Lufkin; daughter, Katie Fillingim and husband Doug of Kountze; grandchildren, Jamie Lund and husband Danny of Lufkin, Janet Yancey and husband Jeremy of Lufkin, Tabitha Benton and husband Michael of Spurger, Krystal Cook and Sierra Cook of Kountze; great-grandchildren; Sage Yancey, Caleb Lund, and Gabriel Benton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents: Katie Bell King Norton and Versie Sidney Norton; brother Harold Butler Norton; husband Lester Elias Waldron.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road in Silsbee, with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, July 22, 2008 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P. M. at the mortuary.
