Jerry Baker, 72, of Lumberton died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at his residence.
Jerry was born in Lumberton to Amith and Louise Baker. He has lived in the area all his life and was a carpenter and roofer.
He is survived by his brothers, J.C. Baker, Daniel Baker, and Phillip Baker all of Lumberton and Junior Baker of Vidor; stepchildren, Beverly Baker, Wanda Langham, Donny Tunnell, Larry Tunnell all of Lumberton, Bobby Tunnell of Warren, Dale Tunnell of Baytown, Darlene Shackleford of Port Acres, Junior Tunnell and Sandy Humble of Sour Lake, and Larry James Nunez of North Carolina; twenty one grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and very special friend, Carol Rainwater, who Jerry considered to be his sister and guardian angel.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother and father; wife, Alice Baker; and brothers, Jessie Baker and Paul Baker.
Funeral service will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road in Silsbee, with interment to follow at Leatherwood Cemetery in Lumberton. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, July 18, 2008 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P. M. at the mortuary.
