Jovita Collazo, 90 of Nederland passed away, Sunday, July 13, 2008 at her residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur with Reverend D. Stephen McCrate officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Port Arthur under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland.. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm Tuesday at the mortuary.
Mrs. Collazo was a native of Vidor and lived in Mid-County all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Olitio O.A. Collazo, and a daughter Eleanor Hernandez.
Mrs. Collazo is survived by: her two sons, Art Collazo and wife Pat of Nederland, Charles Collazo and wife Kathy of Nederland; daughter, Bea Salinas and husband Joe of Port Neches; two step children, Otilio Collazo, Jr., Mary Ellen Sumaya; brother, Joe Escobedo and wife Carmen of Port Arthur; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
