Dorothy Marguarite LaBarbera, 88, of Beaumont, died July 9, 2008, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Mrs. LaBarbera resided in the Beaumont area for many years. She was a member of the Happy Steppers and enjoyed volunteering at the local hospitals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John LaBarbera; and infant son, Michael Joseph LaBarbera. She is survived by her son, John J. LaBarbera, Sr. and wife Joanna of Beaumont; sister, Augusta Hopkins of North Carolina; grandchildren, Michael G. LaBarbera and wife Bridgett of New Braunfels, John “Jerry” LaBarbera, Jr. and wife Kirsten of Katy, Lisa Oller and husband Ronnie of Humble, and Phillip LaBarbera and wife Debra of Fannett; five great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin with burial to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County. Serving as pallbearers will be her three grandsons, grandson-in-law, and four great-grandsons and honorary pallbearers are Kyle LaBarbera and Katie Oller. A Christian Vigil will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2008 at the Mortuary.
