Dolly Merrell, 56 of Nederland passed away, Monday June 30, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Reverend Kevin Otto officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday at the mortuary.
Dolly was a native of Savannah, Georgia and has lived most of her life in Nederland. She was the assistant to the Fleet Director for the City of Beaumont for thirteen years and was employed with Mobil Oil for ten years. Dolly was a member of First United Methodist Church in Nederland.
Dolly was survived by her husband of 36 years, Buddy Merrell of Nederland; mother, Dee Evans of Nederland; daughter, Lee Ann Merrell of Nederland; son, Jeremy Merrell and wife Brittany of Groves; five sisters, Nancy Luke and husband Shelby of Silsbee, Sara Evans of Nederland, Laura Evans of Vidor, Barbara Simon and husband Joey of Port Neches, Susan Collins and husband Freddy of Woodville; brother, Curtis Evans and wife Wanda of Bridge City; three grandchildren, Taylor, Trinity and Trista Merrell.
