Reverend Robert “Bob” Mainord Sr., 93, of Nederland went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at his home with his family by his side.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 20, 2008 in the chapel of Broussard’s in Nederland. Graveside services will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Pine Ridge at 2:00 Pm of Friday, June 20, 2008 under the directions of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday at the mortuary.
Bob was a native of New Madrid County, Missouri and lived in Nederland since 1947. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Reverend Mainord was the pastor of Nederland Christian Church for forty-five years were he fulfilled the true meaning of the word servant. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Mainord; parents, Milas and Myrtis Mainord; brothers, Bill, Scott and Rex Mainord.
Reverend Bob is survived by his daughter, Gail M. Jordan and husband James of Nederland; son, Robert A. Mainord Jr. of Nederland; granddaughters, Robin Franks and husband Scott of Nederland, Deanna Lambert of Nederland; grandson, Randy Jordan and wife Natalie of LaBelle; sisters, Lauranna Clevidence of East Prairie, Missouri, and Mary Beth Brice and husband Bill of Tulsa, Okalahoma; seven great grandchildren and many family and friends.
