une Marie Requardt Dunlap, 77, of Beaumont, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2008 in Beaumont, Texas. June was born August 4, 1930 in Rosenberg, Texas. to Harry and Gladys Requardt. She grew up in Conroe, Texas. and graduated from Conroe High School and also from Sam Houston State Teachers College. She married John F. Dunlap and they lived 34 years in Nederland before moving to Beaumont 16 years ago. She taught physical education at Stephen F. Austin High School before teaching kindergarten and first grade at Sycamore Private School in Nederland for over 20 years.
June was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, John F. Dunlap. She is survived by one daughter, Daphne Konderla of Austin; one son John S. Dunlap and wife Donna of Montgomery; three grandchildren, Brandon Brown and wife Laura of The Woodlands, Texas., Corbin Dunlap and Lauren Dunlap of Montgomery, Texas.; two great grandchildren, Jacob and Avery Brown; two sisters, Dorothy Hand of Humble, Texas and Shirley Wells of Burleson, Texas.
Funeral services will be at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland on Saturday, June 14 with Max Dawson officiating. A gathering of friends will be from 1:00-3:00 PM and funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM. A graveside service and burial will be on Sunday, June 15 at 2:00 PM at Brookside Cemetery in Houston under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland.
Memorial gifts may be made to Dowlen Road Church of Christ or Lifeshare Blood Centers of Beaumont where June volunteered her time over the last 10 years.
What June enjoyed most in life was spending time with family and friends, watching the little children, tending the beautiful flowers in her yard and attending the Dowlen Road Church of Christ.
