Allie Mae Hawthorne Lee, 92, of Nederland passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Cypress Glenn Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 11, 2008 in the chapel of Broussard’s in Nederland. Interment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the mortuary.
Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfonso B. Hawthorne, second husband, Ervin Lee, grandson, Daniel Roy Hawthorne, two sisters, and three brothers. She was a native of Nacogdoches, TX and lived most of her life in Beaumont. Allie was a member of First Church of God in Beaumont, Order of the Eastern Star Lodge 71 for sixty years. She was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors.
Mrs. Lee is survived by her sons, Billy R. Hawthorne and wife Billie Sue of Nederland, Jack Hawthorne and wife Janie Bryan, TX; brother, Rev. Rayford Rector of Nacogdoches; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, seventeen great-great grandchildren, her little dog “Smokey”; numerous nieces and nephews.
