Bobbie Sue Cain Greiner, 78, of Beaumont, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 in Beaumont.

Bobbie Sue was born November 12, 1929 in Picayune, Mississippi to Sam and Lillie Mae Cain. She grew up in Beaumont and graduated from Beaumont High School in 1946 and also from Lamar College in 1948. Bobbie Sue loved her years as a Melody Maid in Beaumont.

She married Max G. Greiner on December 2, 1950. They had four children, Max Jr., Carol, Mark, and Michael. She was steadfast and generous in her love for her children and worked lovingly and faithfully at her husband’s side in support of his every personal and professional endeavor in the Savings and Loan and Banking Business in Port Arthur, Irving and Port Neches. They enjoyed attending Texas A&M and Dallas Cowboy football games. They made many wonderful trips especially with The Traveling Aggies.

While living in Port Arthur, she was a member of Proctor Street Baptist Church and the Service League of Port Arthur. In Irving, she was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of Las Colinas Country Club Women’s Group. Upon the passing of her husband Max, Bobbie Sue moved to College Station where she was a volunteer at the George Bush Library. Since returning to Beaumont, Bobbie Sue resumed her involvement with Calder Baptist Church.

Her parents, Samuel and Lillie Mae Cain; her husband, Max Glen Greiner, Sr.; and brother, Samuel F. Cain, Jr. preceded her in death.

Survivors include her brother, Don Cain of Houston; four children, Max and Sherry Greiner of Kerrville, Carol and Gerald Eddins of Beaumont, Mark and Karen Greiner of Austin, and Michael and Dawn Greiner of Dallas; nine grandchildren, Christina Nash and her husband James, Elizabeth Eddins, Gerry Eddins, Ashley Eddins, Dakota Eddins, Diana Shay Greiner Evans and her husband Justin, Annie Greiner, Sam Greiner and Claire Greiner.

Although Bobbie Sue is no longer with us, memories of her love for her family will be cherished forever.

Raleigh Mae Stevenson(Mrs.Chuck) Irving, TX June 19, 2008
I am so sorry for your loss of your Mom, but know that she is so much happier in heaven with God and Max. And I know that Chuck is giving them both a hard time about the Aggies and the Bears. (I know in heaven there is no distiction, but I know here on earth they were always teasing one another.) Your mom was a special friend to me, and I enjoyed her friendship at church and in "special city" events. May God bless you all, and keep you close to Him. -My love and prayers, Raleigh Mae Stevenson

Cathy Greiner Lafayette, CO June 11, 2008
In this hour of great sorrow we take time to reflect on a life that touched so many. While I was not as fortunate as some to have spent lots of time around the Greiner house growing up, I do recall that one summer when we all came together as one big family at the place called the” Farm”. The cousins of all ages running around laughing, playing games, heckling each other, running to the lake for a quick dip to cool off and sleeping wherever there was room; with the adults enjoying the conversations, the laughter and the view from the porch. I can still hear the matriarch of that home laughing or crying out, “Max Jr. will you behave!” We all have some fond memories of Aunt Bobbi Sue, Uncle Max and that time long ago at the Farm. While nothing will fill the void I am sure you are all feeling right now, take solace in knowing that the legacy left by Aunt Bobbi Sue and Uncle Max will live on in each of you and that we are all blessed to be a part of this great family called Greiner. Much Love Cousin Cathy
