Charlie Hiram Brown, of Beaumont passed away, Monday, May 26, 2008 at the age of 92. He was born February 29, 1916 in Decatur, Texas.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 72 years, Rhoneta and their four children, Patricia Brown Perkins and husband D.D. of Orangefield, Ronald Brown and wife Marilyn of Orangefield, Charlie Mack Brown and wife Linda of Port Neches, and Rita Brown Harris and husband Tom of Houston. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty- four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Brown and Sybil Brown Hays, brothers, T. Delbert Brown and J.B. Brown, and sisters Betty June, Rubye and Stella Lee.
Charlie retired from Mobil Oil in 1977 after 39 years of service.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland. The memorial service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Eddie Tubbs of Calder Woods Retirement Community officiating.
Charlie’s eight grandsons, Michael Brown of Irvine, Ca, Daryl Brown of Riveria, Tx, Ron Brown of The Woodlands, Tx, Darren Brown of Port Neches, Tx, Don Brown of Port Neches, Tx, Dusty Brown of Deridder, La, Todd Harris of Houston, Tx, and Bryan Harris of Houston, Tx, will serve as pallbearers. His three granddaughters, Debra Perkins Page of San Antonio, Tx, Sheri Perkins of Austin, Tx, and Angella Harris Estess of Dallas, Tx, will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family expresses their appreciation to the nursing staff at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont for their excellent care and compassion.
