Helen Sharp, 75, of LaBelle, died Monday, May 19, 2008 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of LaBelle.
Helen had a love of life. She enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. Helen and her sister Nora spent many hours and days fishing. She most enjoyed cooking for her family and having her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren gather around to eat and visit. She always enjoyed family and friends around for coffee and conversation.
Helen was so very proud of her medical care she received. A very special thank you goes out to Dr. Arfeen and his staff, Harbor Hospice House, Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital ICU, North Floor 2 and South 4 and Dr. Gonzales. She often stated how did she get so lucky to have the care she received.
Her husband, Robert Sharp; father, Clyde M. Richard; sisters, Velma Holcomb, Nora Webb, Mary Williamson and Rita Richard; son, Charles C. Howard; step-father, Matt Keneson; and brother-in-law, Don Palmer preceded her in death.
Survivors include her mother, Ivy Keneson of LaBelle; son, Clyde M. Howard and his wife Linda; and daughters, Pamela Howard and Retha Palmer all of LaBelle; brothers, Joe Richard and his wife Barbara and Maurice Richard and his wife Debbie; sister, Susan LeBlanc; nine grandchildren, Deena Stanley and her husband John, Carla Culver and her husband John, Randy Lemke, Christie McBride and her husband Roger, Alicia Campbell and her husband Bradley, Charlie Howard, Brandon Howard, Curtis Pratt, and Tiffany Howard; eight great grandchildren, Haylee Lemke, Tye Stanley, Savannah Smith, Jadyn Barragan, Jacie Culver, Maddy Culver, Gage Howard and Cambrie Pratt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Burrell Cemetery in LaBelle. Randy Lemke, Jr., Roger Abshire, John Sikes, Cory Leblanc, Mark Porter, Curtis Howard Pratt and Steve Stutes will be serving as pallbearers. Her great grandchildren will be serving as honorary pallbearers. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the Mortuary.
