Lirel Mary Thompson, 88, of Groves, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Oak Grove Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Reverend Bennie Patillo officiating, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 to 8 PM Monday at the mortuary with a Christian Vigil beginning at 5 P.M.
Lirel was born in Marksville, La and moved to Groves with her husband in 1945. She was the co-owner and operator of Tommy’s Bar-B-Que in Groves for many years.
Lirel was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Thompson and son Dudelin Thompson. She is survived by her daughter Carol Guidry and husband Alvin of Port Neches, sister; Rae Anna Laborde of Marksville, La., brother; Eugene Laborde of Bossier City, Louisiana, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren
