Raymond “Ray” Joseph Melanson, 78 of Hamshire, died April 30, 2008.
A native of Rayne, LA., Ray was employed with Edward’s Ranch of Winnie, and had lived in the Hamshire area all his life.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Broussard’s Chapel, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard’s. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8: 00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Ray is survived by his companion, Cindy Melanson of Hamshire; daughter, Melinda Kay Melanson of Sour Lake; brother, Louis Melancon and his wife, Lois of Hamshire; sisters, Evelyn Casey and her husband, Mike of Vidor, Ella Landry of Houston, Hilda Perkins of N. C.; nephew, Jeffrey Ciolin of Channelview, grandchildren, Krystal Hargraves, Blaiz Spears; great-grandchild, Makila Hartman; step-sons, Tommy Starkey of Greenville, Terry Starkey and his wife, Jennifer of Italy, Robert Starkey and his wife, Stacey of 29 Palms, CA,; step-daughter, Wanda Beane and her husband, Michael of Commerce; step-grandchildren, Madison Starkey, Ayleigh Starkey, Haleigh Starkey, Mason Starkey, Chelsey Beane and Cailynn Beane.
