Concetta Marie (Connie) Dattalo, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, slipped into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 in Tyler, Texas, at the age of 86.
She was born on January 23, 1922, in Beaumont to Sam and Mary Fazio. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty wonderful years, Charles Dattalo; her parents; brothers, Joe Fazio, Henry Fazio, Nick Fazio, Sam Fazio, Guy Fazio, Tony Fazio and Vic Fazio; and her granddaughters, Caren and Catherine Quast.
Survivors include her daughters, Carol Sanders of Tyler and Charlene Quast of Missouri City; granddaughter, Kelly Murff and her husband Randy of Tyler; grandsons, Kyle Sanders and his wife Elizabeth and Casey Quast all of Houston; great grandchildren, Will Murff, Katherine Murff, Liam Sanders and Gracie Sanders; her sister, and best friend, Antoinette Farnie of Helotes, Texas.
For those of us who loved her so very much, she will be remembered for her beauty, her grace, and her enduring determination and faith. As a final testament to that faith, we find peace in knowing that she passed quietly and peacefully from this world at the exact moment that Father Luke Kalarickal anointed her head with oil and administered the Sacrament of Last Rites.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Mortuary.
