Kayla Renee Lamm

There are no words that can help ease this pain. I've been in this family for almost 13 years now, and never quite had the chance to truly meet Kayla. Yeah, I had seen a a handful of times at some family gatherings, but only as a young girl. I wish I had taken the time to know her better. Life is busy, we go our own separate ways, we have forever.....at least we live like we do. I am so sorry for your loss. Nothing can take away this kind of pain. My prayers are still with our family. We will see you in Heaven soon enough, Kayla.

Last night while I was trying to sleep My daughter's voice I did hear I opened my eyes and looked around But she did not appear She said, "Mom, you've got to listen;you've got to understand God did not take me from you, Mom. He only took my hand." When I called out in pain that day, the instant that I died He reached down and took my hand and pulled me to his side He pulled me up and saved me from the misery and pain My body was hurt so badly inside. I could never be the same My search is really over now I've found happiness within All the answers to my dreams And all that might have been I love you so and miss you so, and I'll always be nearby My body's gone forever But my spirit will never die! And so you must go on now; live one day at a time Just understand..God did not take me from you He only took my hand.

Kayla we love and miss you & you will always be in our thoughts

Kayla....I miss you so much! When your dad told me what had happened to you, it was like-NO-tell me something else. I don't want to hear this! From the day you were born-May 30, 1988 until April 5, 2008 the day God took you home, you have colored our world. You were always so full of life, smiley faces, love for all and always helping someone solve a problem. You touched so many lives. This has been very difficult. We drew so much strength from friends and relatives that were there to support us during this time. Words cannot express our love and appreciation for each of you. Kayla set my cell phone ring tone to "When the Saints Go Marching In" for her calls to me. It was brought to my memory Thursday, April 10 as Kevin and I were taking Kayla's little brother(Ethan) and sister(Taylor) back to Florida. There was a billboard on the side of the road in Louisiana that read, "Remember When the Saints Came Marching In?". It reminded me that I wouldn't be receiving that call anymore. I won't be talking her home late nights anymore. You are greatly loved and we will miss you so so so much. You never slowed down for yourself-it was always for everyone else. Your dad has planted a beautiful flower garden at the corner of his porch with an angel right up front. You can only wonder, How can this be but I know God makes no mistakes. I went to Victory Temple Sunday morning. Brother Robert lead the song service and preached the message. I thought my heart would burst. I know Jesus loves me and God is so good but right now the pain is great. Baby Girl-enjoy those streets of gold and your heavenly mansion and lay down by the riverside and REST. We'll see you soon! I love you-MeeMaw

Lori and Kevin my thought and prayers are with you both as well as the rest of the family. I only knew Kayla as a baby when she was born so I didn't get to know her as she grew up to a young lady but Lori you kept me updated with photos and her growing up years. She will be greatly missed. Love you Kathy

You don't know me but I'm friends with Angela, Amy and Brenna. My prayer's are with you in the loss of your precious daughter. There is no pain as deep as the pain of putting your child in the ground. May God be with you in your time of Grief.

Kayla, I can't believe you are really gone. It is truly hard to say goodbye for now. We all miss you so much. But I know that God does all things in His perfect timing and His appointed time with you was April 5th, 2008. Lori and Kevin my prayers go out before you during this time. For peace and comfort to overwhelm you. Kayla was such a beautiful person, inside and out. She has really impacted my life just in the way she lived her life: loving all people regardless of their flaws, carefree, non-judgemental, and just plain "crazy". Not a day goes by that I don't think about her and you two. Larry, thank you so much for making this difficult time easy. You are a remarkable person. God bless you all and know that you don't have go through this time on your own, God is there to carry you through. Love you so, Krysti

What an honor it was to have Kayla in our lives. What a privalege it was to know she thought of us as family and held us so close to her heart. We never knew someone with such a personality that exudes pure happiness. She truely became so special to us and our children's lives. Lori and Larry, family and Kevin our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. Kayla, baby we are so proud of your accomplishments in becoming a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician. What an honor it was to be in your life, and to watch you with patients was a joy. You brought comfort to people in their time of need and gave it your all. You made an impact on us, our lives and showed us the true meaning of happiness and love. We will miss your laughs, your smiles, the dang camera of course, and all that emcompassed you. Baby girl spread your wings and fly!! Kayla, we miss you and one day we will see you again! Love Jasz and Brenna

Lori, thank you so much for being a wonderful mother to Kayla. Thank you for sharing her with us. You and Kevin did an excellent job on raising Kayla. I never saw two divorced people get along so well as you two did for Kayla. Larry, thank you for being such a wonderful step-father to Kayla. Thank you for being so wonderful to Kevin and Lori through the planning and everything. Kayla, I will miss our debates, that would end with neither of us changing our opinion. For a while I will agree with you that Nederland is better than PN-G. Just for a while now, you know how much I care for the Indians. I will never forget how happy you were to see Destinie in the Bulldog cheerleading outfit. How you would give my kids change to come tell me that the “Bulldogs Rule!” Oh, how I would push that you needed to date Uncle Johns cousin but you insisted that he was “Too Old!” He would have treated you like the queen that you are. I still am in shock and cannot believe that this has happened. I get up every morning thinking it was a bad dream and my heart breaks all over again when I realize that it was not a dream. Kayla you had the biggest heart and so much better than I would ever hope to be. You loved everyone regardless of their flaws. How more people need to be like you, myself included. How you would forgive people and still love them, you were more of a Christian than most people. There is so much I want to say, I Love You and will miss you so much. Philippians 1:3 Aunt Kari

Kevin, I was so very sorry to hear about Kayla. Nothing anyone can say will ease your pain. But please know that God is by your side helping you through this very difficult time. Kayla, I didn't know you, but I know your mother...I am so sad for her. Going on without you will be the hardest thing she has ever had to do.

You will be missed incredibly. I love you so much.

Will never forget you, and will miss you I love you always Cowboy.

It saddens me of your loss and I'm so-so sorry I wasn't able to be in attendance. My heart + prayers goes out to the family, especially Kevin + Janice. Thanks, Cliff Brown Houston Cousin

Lori, Kayla was such a joy. There are no words to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Please believe that God will show you the way. I'm praying for you.

Lori, There are no words to express to you how sorry I am for your loss. Kayla was a beautiful girl..........that's obvious from her pictures and the other sentiments in this book. I can't imagine what you and your family must be going through................losing a child is a pain that is unimaginable. It just isn't suppose to happen this way. I will pray that time will bring some peace and healing. Please know that Kayla's love will continue to surround you everywhere you go and in everything you do. You will feel her presence, and it will comfort you to know that she's watching over you and your family. Once again, I am so sorry for the pain you are going through. I know you must miss her terribly. Take care, and if there's anything I can do for you, please let me know. Lisa Fahey

Lori, I was shocked and saddened by the news. I remember how much you talked about and loved Kayla and hope you find some comfort that she will live on in the memories of all her family and friends.

For the family...Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Life is precious and I pray that the special time that God has allowed you to share with your sweet Kayla will fill your thoughts. I know that only God can provide that peace that you so desperately need. I pray for His peace and comfort in your lives. While we don't see you often at all, we think of you and speak of you often. This past weekend Cliff, Rex, & I pulled up many old memories and shared stories of the family. Arlton, Donnie, JW, Shirley, Helen, Bill, Mike, Paul, Verna....there are so many who hold a special place in our hearts and have made our lives more enriched. We discussed that it is not only our precious memories of those departed that are important...but the many memories we have of you. Thanks for those special moments that we have shared. Our memories made our weekend even better. We know you have many special memories of Kayla that we cannot fathom and your lives are better from the love that you've shared. God bless and HOLD you. Nancy B.

My deepest regrets go to Kaylas family. This is real wierd & hard for me to think of because we named our first daughter after Kayla! I didnt get much of a chance to be in Kaylas life but when we were around her, we always thought she was so beautiful & full of life with a big smile always on her face just like her mother. They say that when one life is taken, another life is born. Well, we found out that our Kayla is pregnant with a baby on the same day that we found out that our cousin passed away. I see that Kayla was a Volunteer firefighter which says alot about her. It says that she was brave, strong, couragous & cared alot about others lives, even others that she didnt even know. Im a firefighter as well and know how tough it is and she did it for free. I wished I could have been around her more often and regret that I wasnt. We will always have a place in our heart for her. Everytime that I look at my daughter Kayla or say her name I think of Kayla Lamm as well. My daughter is very proud to have her name and we couldnt have picked a better person to name her after. God Bless you all.

I am sorry for your loss, your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

We were sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Lori and Family, I am truly sorry for the loss your family is dealing with right now. I lost my mother in the same way, please believe me when I say the pain lessons. You remember to wonderful times and moments are some what more bearable then the next. I did not have the honor of getting to know Kayla as well as I would have liked. I am reminded of when your family came to visit us in California not long after you had Kayla . She was beautiful then as she is now. My heart goes out to you and my wonderful extended family.

Our thoughts and prayers go with your family, you will be missed and cherished.

We were supposed to be in each others weddings and have kids around the same time so they could be close cousins like us. Almost like brothers and sisters. You mean the world to me and i miss you greatly. I know that everything happends for a reason and God just needed you a little earlier than we all intended. I'm so blessed to have someone like you watching over me now from Heaven. Keep the family entertained there until i meet you at the gate. I better get a huge hug Klamm! I Love You always, forever and EVEN further, Yours always, Your Baby Cousin, Krista "Knoli"

Kayla, there will NEVER be another person like you. You are truely one of a kind. I never imagined in a million years this would happen...had I known...there are a million things I would say to you...I love you, I think you had a spark and a charisma that no other person could match. I always wished I could be as out going and friendly to people as you were. You would always walk up to strangers and say "I'm Kayla Lamm, who are you, do you have kids? do they want to be my friends? Can they come over and play.... you were never bashful, you were full of life and fun....I can't imagine this world with out you. Its always been said that you don't realize what you have until it is gone, and that is so true. I always took for granted that you would be here, I always took for granted that you would just always be apart of my life, and now that you are gone, I can't imagine what this world will be like without you. It makes me SO mad when I see people driving down the street, going to work, going shopping, .... just going about their daily lives...i just want to stand up and scream "DON'T YOU REALIZE THAT SOMETHING SOMETHING TRAGIC HAS HAPPENED, DON'T YOU REALIZE THIS WORLD IS NEVER GOING TO BE THE SAME..." but life keeps moving on... I don't understand it...but some how, we have to move on. I know you were saved, and that brings such piece to my heart. I know where you are, and I know I will see you again. I love you so much and I'm so sorry I never said it enough. I know you can see my heart now and how it aches, I know you can see how much you were loved. I hope you know you will NEVER be replaced. I love you, your Aunt Kathy.... see you when I get there, save me a place next to you sweety, and tell everyone there we love and miss them too. Aunt Kathy
