Walter “Buddy” Creel, 71, of Honey Island died Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Harbor Hospice House. Buddy was born January 29, 1937 to Wiley Allen and Clara (Jackson) Creel in Hicksbough, Texas. A resident of Hardin County most of his life, he was a retired crane operator with Kirby Lumber Company in Silsbee.
He is survived by nieces, Carrie Nugent of Kountze and Stacy Hart of Hull; and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, L.D. Creel; and sisters Vernice Palmer and Julia Griffin.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverand Mel Rowell officiating. Burial will follow at Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
